Sakura are pretty much at full bloom now. Here is the tree next to the campus Family Mart:
and view from my lab window - you can spot the sakura easily:
So, not to miss a hanami chance (might be a bit rainy on the weekend), I went from school to see how the sakura are looking along the yamazakigawa river. I got off at the Sogo Rehabilitation Center subway station and walked to the river from there. Here is an interesting crab restaurant. kani (かに) is crab; ya (や - typically written in kanji 屋) is shop/restaurant):
An entrance to a nice house - quite a number of nice looking houses in that area:
A small house with a nice sakura tree and other greenery:
You know you are getting close...
And finally reached the river. Lots of people viewing sakura.
Zoom in on that:
So basically full bloom - pretty sweet:
So fluffy... makes you want to eat them:
The path under the sakura trees is nice:
Some of these trees looked pretty old:
Farther in along the river:
This continues for a few kilometers:
Kinda looks like snow:
Still not shedding much petals:
And continuing...
There is even sakura blooming on the bark!
Sometimes, there are these areas you can go down closer to the river:
Not bad for a self photo with no preview:
Continuing on...
Looking back (reaching the sports complexes):
A different kind of sakura - brighter colour:
Not only sakura is blooming:
Was getting dark already - in front of the large stadium that had something going on since lots of people were streaming in:
I like the way the branches are parallel to the slope of the river canal:
And reaching the end of the canal (near Aratamabashi):
The trees are illuminated in the dark but my foot wasn't feeling too well (again, too much walking!) so I went for sushi at Aratamabashi and then took the subway back home.
